"Rolf Structural Integration is a bodywork therapy which aligns and balances the body by lengthening
and repositioning imbalances in the connective tissue system called fascia. Pressure is applied to areas
where the fascia has shortened or tightened, working the entire fascial system in a systemic way. As
the fasica is lengthened and mobilized the muscles and joints move more efficiently and the body can
return to its structurally optimal position. When a body is aligned and balanced it moves with greater
ease and requires less energy to function within the gravitational field. The circumstances which pull the body out of alignment are the result of physical injuries, emotional
gradually shortens, tightens, and adjust to accommodate the misalignment. This creates an imbalance
and inefficiency within the entire system and results in stiffness, discomfort, and loss of energy. Gravity
then becomes an obstacle to physical and psychological well being. By lengthening and opening the imbalance in the connective tissue, gravity flows through the individual.
Good posture is effortless and breathing is easier. The body becomes more flexible, coordinated and
personal potential is enhanced."
