"In the Japanese tradition, Ashiatsu contains two roots: "ashi," meaning foot, and "atsu," meaning pressure. Combining these terms, Ashiatsu techniques combine barefoot massage with deep, broad and consistent pressure which uses the therapist"s feet and weight to work with gravity, not against it. This allows our Ashiatsu therapists to provide an effective therapeutic massage without causing pain or discomfort to the patient. We combine our Ashiatsu treatment with cream or oil to make this deep therapeutic massage very fluid and seamless. The parallel bars above the massage table allow the therapist to maintain their balance, for support and your safety.Because Ashiatsu uses up to three times the compressive power compared to traditional hands-on massage, our Ashiatsu therapists take extra precaution with our patients. When you request an Ashiatsu treatment, our therapist will screen you for conditions that would contraindicate an Ashiatsu treatment"
