THE GRASTON TECHNIQUE

Why this resource is helpful:

Quoted From: https://www.chiropractichealingcenter.org/about-the-graston-technique/

"Graston Technique is both a diagnostic and therapeutic soft tissue treatment method. Stainless steel instruments are used to evaluate and treat muscles, tendons, ligaments, and associated connective tissues.

It offers a non-invasive way to break up scar tissue and fibrosis within all these structures when they aren"t "at their best."

Graston Technique can be effective in the treatment of: carpal tunnel syndrome, cervical pain, de Quervain"s syndrome, epicondylitis (tennis elbow), fibromyalgia, IT band syndrome, joint sprain, lower back pain, muscle strain, painful scars, plantar fasciitis, post fracture pain, and tendonitis.

Graston Technique is an interdisciplinary treatment used by more than 3000 clinicians internationallyincluding athletic trainers, chiropractors, hand specialists, occupational and physical therapists.

The Graston Technique Instruments, much like a tuning fork, resonate in the clinician"s hands allowing the clinician to isolate adhesions, scar tissue and soft tissue restrictions. These soft tissue lesions can then be accurately treated with the same tools. Since the metal surface of the instruments does not compress as do the fat pads of the finger, deeper restrictions can be accessed and treated. When explaining the properties of the instruments, we often use the analogy of a stethoscope. Just as a stethoscope amplifies what the human ear can hear, so do the instruments increase significantly what the human hands can feel."
