"Understanding Your Colon:
The colon is a muscular tube approximately 5 feet long. It is lined with tender tissue like the inside of your cheeks. The lining contains glands like saliva glands that secrete lubrication, allowing smooth passage of stool. The muscles on the outer wall of the colon create wave-like contractions which move the stool along.
An abundance of beneficial bacteria inhabit the lubricating mucous of the colon lining. This flora functions to neutralize, dissipate, and prevent toxic conditions from developing in the colon.
In a healthy body, nutrients will absorb and waste will be eliminated completely within about 24 hours. Ideally, one should have as many bowel movements per day as meals. Rushing through our day overrides our body's normal reflex to defecate after eating. Failure to eliminate thoroughly and in a timely manner affects the balance of bacteria and leads to re-absorption of waste products that should have been passed out of the body. These re-absorbed wastes can poison the intestines and the rest of the body.
The three essential functions of a healthy body are:
Building tissue from food
Balance and maintenance
Proper elimination of waste
Nothing tastes as good as being healthy feels!
Colon Cleansing:
Colon cleansing is a detoxification process. Toxicity occurs in our bodies when we take in more food, emotions, or mental stress than we can utilize and eliminate. Colon cleansing assists the process of clearing stored toxins, emotions, and stress from the body's tissues.
Historically, colon cleansing with water has been recognized as a valuable practice in maintaining and regaining health. Colon cleansing has existed since at least 1500 B.C. as recorded in ancient medical documents.
Colon Hydrotherapy uses purified water for cleansing and rejuvenation of every cell in the body. By aiding in the removal of fecal material from the colon walls, bacteria and toxin levels are diluted and reduced. When the toxin level drops in the colon the vascular and lymphatic systems may release additional waste into the colon for further dilution and release. The cleansing process also helps exercise and tone the colon; which may stimulate reflex points and reshape the colon when necessary, bringing the body back into balance. When appropriate, beneficial bacteria (a probiotic) can be added to the water and administered with the colon hydrotherapy session.

When we reduce our toxic load we become lighter in every sense. We are more responsive to our body's needs and open to change. We may overcome our addictions, cravings, abusive habits and create a greater life force. This revitalizes natural functions, empowers new lifestyle choices, and promotes true healing. Best results are sustained as we consciously consume more whole foods including organic fresh fruits & vegetables.

The Systems:

"What is the difference between an open and closed system?"

The open system uses a very small tube; less than the width of a pencil. Your body is in control of the gentle receiving and releasing of the water as you relax. The flow is controlled by gravity or can be pressurized when appropriate. Many prefer these sessions as they offer greater privacy.

In a closed system a 1 inch in diameter tube allows pressurized water to enter and hydrate the colon. Waste and water are eliminated thru a tube directly into the septic system. The procedure is assisted by the constant presence of the practitioner.

Both instruments are FDA approved and registered. With each instrument the water is both filtered and ultraviolet light sterilized. We use only new, disposable utensils in each session insuring sanitation. Prescriptions are required for both systems and are easily obtained from your health care practitioner or ours.

Consider a colonic anytime!
Enhancing the body"s ability to eliminate waste can be a key addition to obtaining your optimal health goals. Colon Hydrotherapy is a safe effective way to hydrate, enhancing the elimination of toxins from our bodies. Both occasional and seasonal cleansing is encouraged to ease your body"s burden. After a cleansing series, many clients enjoy a session once a month to maintain optimal health.
Health is a journey, not an event!
Signs of Imbalance:
There are many contributing factors leading to bowel problems including: improper diet and food combining, insufficient exercise, stress, overeating and ignoring the "call of nature". Enhancing the colon's ability to eliminate waste may reduce the risk of developing illnesses and assist in promoting and maintaining good health. Many healthy people choose to cleanse as a way to prevent illness from developing.
An internal imbalance is often first recognized as constipation or diarrhea. These signs are normally accompanied by foul smelling stools or gas. Other symptoms of internal imbalance may include allergies, asthma, depression, memory loss, fatigue, poor appetite, insomnia, nausea, indigestion, food craving, headache, backache, hemorrhoids , swelling, over/underweight, poor concentration, prostate trouble, reduced sexuality, abdominal pain, skin problems, poor circulation, nervousness, anxiety, tension, irritability, and malnourishment.
Many people already benefit from Colon Hydrotherapy. Now I invite you to experience benefits of cleansing for yourself in our safe, comfortable, relaxed environment.
