"Learn skills in coordination, strength, and movement in supportive and structured Bellydance classes with Elinore Eaton. Be part of a wonderful community of dancers striving for excellence in technique, musicality, dance movement, and a ton of fun! Please bring finger cymbals, a hip scarf if you like (no coin belts please), water, and wear comfortable clothes to dance in. No shoes are necessary, though jazz shoes or foot undies might be preferable to bare feet depending on your needs.We will break down and practice Bellydance isolations, movement, and musicality. We will start with a lengthy warm up that includes stretching, seated technique, and calisthenics. Warmup is followed by standing and walking technique instruction and drills, ending with a short dance combination/choreography and/or dance movement across the floor. Technique, vocabulary, and nomenclature used in class is based off Suhaila Salimpour Format.This class will put your technique practice in motion with finger cymbals and improve your improv skills. We will start with a brief warm up that includes stretching and seated technique practice. Warmup is followed by technique breakdown, review, and dance practice in a round. We will practice dancing and thinking on our feet in a callout based structure. Technique, vocabulary, and nomenclature used in class is based off of Suhaila and Jamila Salimpour Format."
