"Race is something we all notice from a very young age. Even if race wasn"t talked about at home with your family, you have likely seen and heard commentary about your own race on playgrounds, in classrooms, in workplaces, and in your friendships or romantic relationships. While some of these outside sources of input about your race may have been helpful, it"s also likely that some of the commentary you"ve heard has left you feeling ashamed of, or disconnected from, your own racial identity. If you"re someone who"s biracial or multiracial, you may have even felt like you need to choose one race over another in order to make other people feel more comfortable."
