"Kids experience emotions in the body. In the book "Whole Brain Child", Siegel & Bryson suggest "move it or lose it" as a strategy for when kids are stressed or upset. This exercise is a form of Progressive Muscle Relaxation, which was developed in the 1920s by Dr. Edmond Jacobson. In this meditation, kids will work on tensing, then relaxing, different muscles by mimicking animal shapes and actions. This can be used when kids are upset or have a lot of extra energy."
