week period and represent a change from previous functioning; at least one of the symptoms is either (1) depressed mood or (2) loss of interest or pleasure.Depressed mood most of the day, nearly every day. This may be described as irritability (in teens and children), sadness, emptiness, hopelessness, or emptiness. Loss of interest or pleasure in most activities. Significant weight gain or loss; a significant change in appetite.Depression can come in many forms and impact anyone at any time in life.
