Stimulants are a broad classification that includes many different substances. These drugs include common compounds such as caffeine and nicotine, illicit substances such as cocaine and meth, and prescription amphetamines such as Ritalin, Adderall, and Concerta. Stimulants work by increasing dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain, which triggers the brain"s reward system and the body"s cardiovascular system, respectively. The increase in these chemicals improves concentration and decreases fatigue, desirable effects for those with stress, narcolepsy, or treating attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). "Serenity Lane"s Intensive Outpatient Treatment program in Vancouver, WA is a ten-week program of group therapy, individual counseling and education about the disease of addiction. Treatment groups meet three times a week for 3 hours per session. The family support group meets weekly for three hours. Serenity Lane meets all Deferred Prosecution requirements. Treatment groups meet three times a week for 3 hours per session. The family support group meets weekly for three hours. Serenity Lane meets all Deferred Prosecution requirements. The mental trick that helped me claw way my back from debilitating anxiety

Throughout my teens and the entirety of my twenties, it seemed like I was weathering one health-related disaster after another. At fifteen, I was hospitalized with ovarian cysts giant, fluid-filled sacs that would spontaneously rupture and leave me vomiting and doubled over in pain within a matter of minutes. At twenty, I underwent emergency surgery for a kidney stone obstruction while I was studying abroad in southern India. (If you've never had the misfortune of trying to squeeze out a kidney stone over a squat toilet, consider yourself lucky). Then, at twenty-five, my unborn son was diagnosed with a permanently paralyzing disability. Throughout all of this, a latent anxiety disorder sprouted, and then bloomed.

The fact that Autism Spectrum Disorder exists as a spectrum means all people can place themselves somewhere on this spectrum. Indeed, the characteristics that make up autism are part of how neurotypical people (people who are not on the autism spectrum) experience the world as well. I find this to be something that allows us to more deeply empathize and understand the challenges that our friends, family members, and clients with autism face. Autism is characterized by significant impairment in 3 areas: communication, social interaction, and interests/behaviors. Let"s take a look at how neurotypical people can expand our understanding to better support those living with autism. Throughout this post, I will refer to people with autism in a variety of ways. Some individuals with autism prefer to be called "autistic" while others may prefer to be referred to as "a person on the autism spectrum". When you"re not sure how someone would like to be referred as, just ask! If they are nonverbal you can ask their family or caretakers.

What is dissociative identity disorder (DID)? Dissociative identity disorder (DID) was formerly called multiple personality disorder. People with DID develop one or more alternate personalities that function with or without the awareness of the person"s usual personality. DID is one of a group of conditions called dissociative disorders. Dissociative disorders are mental illnesses that involve disruptions or breakdowns of memory, consciousness or awareness, identity and/or perception mental functions that normally work smoothly. When one or more of these functions is disrupted, dissociative symptoms can result. It explains how each program works, and the kinds of information a health professional can furnish to help ensure sound and prompt determinations and decisions on disability claims. What is Refuge Recovery? We are a peer-led movement using buddhist-inspired practices and principles, combined with successful recovery community structures, to overcome addiction. We offer recovery from all forms of addiction through participation in our Refuge Recovery program. The book, Refuge Recovery: A Buddhist Inspired Path to Recovering from Addiction; is the foundation of our program and used by all Refuge Recovery groups. Refuge Recovery members practice a daily recovery program that includes meditation and personal inventory, mentorship, retreat and service as integral components. Our program includes regular attendance at group meetings. The group atmosphere provides help from peers and offers an ongoing support network for all who wish to pursue and maintain an addiction free life. "Serenity Lane"s Intensive Outpatient Treatment program in Vancouver, WA is a ten-week program of group therapy, individual counseling and education about the disease of addiction. Treatment groups meet three times a week for 3 hours per session. The family support group meets weekly for three hours. Serenity Lane meets all Deferred Prosecution requirements. Level One patients meet for a 1-1/2 hour session, one to three times per week to learn to identify and manage stressful life events and to cope with the inevitable ups and downs of early recovery. The SafeChoice Program advocates for, educates, and supports those affected by domestic violence. SafeChoice has been a leader in providing domestic violence services to Clark County since 1974. In addition to operating the only domestic violence shelter serving Clark County, SafeChoice offers a wide array of services to respond to the immediate needs of victim-survivors in our community.
