Many of us have witnessed relatives or friends succumb to Alzheimer"s disease or other forms of dementia. Here is a useful list of tips to help keep your brain healthy: brain health and avoiding dementia.

Eliminate or greatly reduce simple carbohydrates and processed foods from your diet, including sugar, grains and other starches, since they can stir up inflammation in the brain.
Add probiotics to your diet.
Take higher doses of Vitamin D3 daily, that is 2-5,000 IU a day. Make sure to have your levels checked.
Take a good multivitamin daily from a reputable company.
Take vitamin B6 and vitamin B12 daily. Discuss the dose with your physician.
Take CoQ10 daily.
Add fish oil to your diet.
Take coconut oil daily.
Exercise rigorously, 30-45 minutes for 5 days a week.
Sleep at least 8 hours a night.
Try to fast for 24 hours on occasion.
Take turmeric daily (also found in curry sauces).
If you eat meat, choose organic chicken, grass-fed beef or non-farmed fish.
