"Welcome to Vancouver Prostate Cancer Support and Awareness (PSA). We are a group of men and their partners who provide information and support for those living with prostate cancer. You are invited to join us on the first Thursday of each month for two hours of updates on research and discussion of treatment options, as well as shared practical experiences of how others deal with difficulties.

To hear the words "You have cancer" from your doctor is a profound shock, and it causes most of us a great deal of anxiety. But you need not face it by yourself. Our group"s primary mission is to assist those who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer; and one of the most effective tools that we use is the power of collective experience.

The PC Support and Awareness group provides a comfortable environment where you can ask questions about all aspects of the disease and its treatment, and get answers from people who have experienced cancer first hand.

In addition, each meeting features a medical specialist from a wide range of fields who discuss their work. Join us to:

Hear leading researchers from the fields of oncology, pharmacology, genetics, urology, psychology and biology discuss the progress that is being made in diagnosing and treating prostate cancer. meet renowned physicians from the fields of urology and radiation oncology who explain their forms of treatment. Learn about advances in genetics and how they are being used in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. find out how diet affects cancer and which foods can protect you from its return. discover how exercise programs after treatment are a key to long-term health. Learn how to deal with the many stressful aspects of a cancer diagnosis so that you can continue to have a productive life. ask about men"s experience with different forms of treatment. Talk with people who understand what you are going through."
