"The Queer Youth Resource Center (QYRC) is an established 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to the mission of serving lesbian, gay, bi, pan, trans, nonbinary, intersex, asexual/aromantic, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ ) youth ages 12-24 and their allies in Vancouver and the greater Southwest Washington area. We here at QYRC, in solidarity with many youth today, choose to reclaim "queer" to serve as an inclusive umbrella term referencing all LGBTQ people.
While QYRC is not yet a physical building, we operate from the motto of "creating community as our center," utilizing existing community partnered locations to provide our services. Our current work includes planning and hosting recreational youth events, engaging in community networking and outreach, as well as promoting key LGBTQ resources.
It is imperative that we continue to show up for queer youth! How can YOU help? We welcome family, friends, service providers of, and general stakeholders invested in queer youth, as well as queer youth themselves, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, or experience level, to get involved in our work. We have positions open within our Board of Directors, and always appreciate general advisors and volunteers. Join us at our next monthly board meeting, or donate today at the link above!"
